TV Ratings and what can I do?

I like TV. I'm currently keeping up with four shows, all of which come on the major networks, all of which I watch legally online at ABC, Fox, or Hulu. I'd like a second season of Dollhouse, so when I saw this it made me wonder. If I, personally, sat down and watched Dollhouse this Friday, would it make any difference? I'm not a Neilsen family. As far as I know TPTB have no idea what I watch. Is there any way that watching it on that night is going to help it? Is watching it over the weekend on the internet helping or hurting its standing?
