It's been a pretty cool week so far.

[livejournal.com profile] flutingfrenzy, I have been meaning to call you every night this week. It's tech week for Ragtime and every time I think I'm going to be home by nine, someone asks for me to stay and help with something else. I would promise to be home tonight early, as I'm just auditioning for the Christmas show, but I've thought that would happen the last three nights, so I'm not going to jinx it.

I've also been asked to maybe be on the Peanut Gallery Board at MCFTA. Squee! It was more asking if I wanted to maybe be on it sometime in the future, but without any particular time table attached, but since I'm probably moving in July, it's not unlikely that I'll be asked for next year.

I've also got a seasonal position at Michael's. The only two stores that I would have liked better would be Barnes and Noble or Kohl's. As it is, I won't spend the entirety of my paycheck on flowers and such. I'm especially excited because it looks like they're going to schedule me for mostly days. I can do theater!

Speaking of theater, I've got auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever tonight. I probably won't make it, as they're trying to cast families rather than individual adults. I don't care. I can help backstage (I've already been asked to help with auditions tomorrow) and I can be in the Christmas Choir. They sing all over town and before the show. Lots of kids, lots of fun. I love singing alto.

I've also figured out that Freerice.com has other subjects besides vocabulary now! They have English grammar, geography, foreign language vocab, and times tables. I've donated so much rice today.

Also, my kitty is a most excellent guard kitty. We've noticed that she's really obsessed with the front door: if someone enters by it, she's either running up to check it out or running away in terror and arching her back when you see her again. If we scoop her up and just stand at the door talking to the neighbors at the door, she growls. Today we had a pest guy come by (there's a yellow jacket hive trying to invade my house) and she decided to hide. After he went back outside to look for the next, I decided to give her a treat and pick her up. When we went to the front window, she caught sight of the pest guy and started growling like mad. She twisted and turned as if to say "let me at him!" It was disconcerting and kinda hilarious. She's fine with people who simply come and spend time with us. She seems to know the difference between people who are welcome and people who we're not letting inside. I love my guard kitty!

I really really need to work on that vest for Halloween. I'm just going to have to set a day down next week and do nothing but that.
