Angel protests
Feb. 16th, 2004 01:48 pmI've been thinking about Angel being canceled recently (as it is sad sad news) and have come to this conclusion. There is really nothing we can do.
We live in an online world. We have online petitions that we're sending to WB to get them to keep Angel. Can't they just delete those with little to no thought? Think of all the spam that you deleted as you opened your mailbox this morning, and tell me that it is not easy to ignore those that annoy you.
We need to look outside the online medium. We need to fill their post boxes with letters. We need to fax them, we need to picket. We do not need to harass. Just telling WB that they suck or that "Angel" is the best thing "evah!" will do nothing. Although it is hard to be objective, we need to find out why they canceled "Angel", and to find a way to change their minds. Using persuasion techniques other than threatening. We need fangirls to write in en masse, and we need everyone else to do so as well.
If everyone who enjoys the show "Angel" wrote one letter to WB...think how full their mailboxes would be!
They may still ignore us. They may get their assistant's assistant to go through their letters. But can it hurt us? At least we will have tried.
So fill out your online petitions, but write a letter too. Because an actual letter has to be held, looked at, and physically thrown away.
