Yay Summer!

I've now worked my first real job for a year. Plus a few weeks. I'm a little less overwhelmed than I was at first, and a lot happier. Getting a chance to spend time with people on a regular basis helps a lot. Thank goodness for DnD.

In the past year I've paid off my only student loan (for Ireland). I'm debt-free, minus credit card debt, which we pay off every month, so I don't think that counts.

I've done my taxes twice.

I found out that graduation isn't as special as I thought it would be, and that tradition isn't as important as I thought it was either.

I figured out that as long as I know that Matt loves me, I don't need to worry about what society thinks about his actions. I have to keep reminding myself of that, of course.

In the past year and a half I've read the entirety of the Discworld series (minus "The Last Hero").

I've bought all of Fruits Basket, a lot of Ouran and Saiyuki, and have discovered the joys of Princess Tutu.

I've learned to cook new things, and have impressed my mother with my skills.

I'm learning how to keep the apartment clean.

I still have no clue what to do with my life, but I think that's okay. I hope.

Annoyances

1st, and most recent: Bringing a book out to the breakroom, and having someone try to have a conversation with me anyway. Even when I continue to read the book.

2nd: Not being able to swear. I'm starting a new session at an acquaintance's house, and his house rules are no drinking, no smoking, and no swearing. Two out of three - no problem! The last one....shit.

At the present time the system is I try to watch my language, but if I slip up either I apologize or he glares at me until I apologize. The latter only happens if I don't realize that I've uttered a curse word.

The problem is that the younger the group is, and the more males there are, the more likely I am to swear. And this is a fuckin' DnD group! (Although, to be fair, of the 8 people there last night, two were female, and one more will be joining us next week.)

I ultimately took to emitting "swearword" very monotone whenever I felt like swearing, but that doesn't help my outbursts of swearing.

He allows things like "drat" and "goodness" but not "oh god!" or anything else. I've already pointed out that they're just substitutes for the real thing, but he doesn't care. I neglected to mention that I don't care about taking his lord's name in vain. We've had political conversations (very interesting ones) but I don't want to start a fight. Besides - his house, his rules.

So...I need help coming up with words to substitute into my vocabulary. Frak is the obvious choice, but I want to expand it. I don't want to take too many swear words/phrases from the same fandoms so that I don't look like too big of a geek. Or that I seem like a well rounded geek. You get the idea.

I would say "Great Maker" but it seems a little unnatural.

So what are fun swear words/phrases which are unlikely to cause offense?
