And why didn't Owen, like, kick him off the farm or something? They should have at least been alarmed when he showed up, baby in tow to give to them. Here's how the scene should have gone:

OBI-WAN (Randomly knocks on door, baby in hand. Beru opens door): Hello. You probably barely remember me, but this is your step-nephew. His father turned to the dark side, killed his mother, and exterminated all the Jedi. This fellow is probably a Jedi as well, so take good care of him. By the way, rather than raising the little fellow myself, as I will be staying on the planet, I will leave him with you for no apparent reason rather than he's your nephew. I will, however, swoop in at some point, train him as a Jedi, and he will go off and have adventures, some of which will probably having to do with dealing with his father. Hopefully I'll do a better job next time of training Jedi. You will have no say in this. So, in short, you get all the trouble of raising him, and I get to watch from a distance until I feel like the time is right.
OWEN AND BERU: *blink*

I mean, I guess he contacted them about it before he landed. But...wouldn't Vader intercept that? And...ARGH! Logic is just not there. Sith was just plain illogical.
