clodia_risaI have no clue when I posted last, but that's okay. And way too lazy to look at my archive, or my actual livejournal. That would be silly.
Let's see - this weekend, Matt's parents came down to visit. Joy.
I got to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Which was awesome. The witch was magnificent. And the children could act (wonder of wonders). The next one, Prince Caspian, is supposed to come out in 2008. :)
I also saw Caligula. Made in 1979 with Malcolm McDowell, Peter O'Toole, Helen Mirren, and John Gielgud. And penthouse girls. It was a very very special movie. Matt was expecting a porn with "historical parts" and I was expecting a movie with orgies. I won! It was more-or-less a straight "serious-business" movie, minus the orgies, and the propensity for the actors to go around naked, and the various and sundry disturbing scenes like seeing someone tied up, in front of an audience, giving birth. Holy crap. I would recommend it, if you don't have a weak stomach, and don't mind mind-tripping movies. And really short tunics. (Yes, CFUD-watchers, this is where Alex got his Caligula-icons/inspiration.)
I saw Pirates last weekend. Which was awesome, if you ignored the occasional lapses in logic, which I did. The Kraken music was indeed beautiful. Bill Nighy was amazing. Tia Dalma was cool. I don't think that Elizabeth prefers Jack to Will, which I hear is a main theory now. Every time the compass pointed to Jack, it was right after she was wondering why on earth Will was ...in the situation he was in (because I am way too lazy for Lj cuts right now). And so it pointed at Jack, because Jack knew/was the cause/whatever.
Also, found my cell phone, which I had lost for a week.
Also! Fantastic mini-essay by Cleolinda! She is at WriterCon, and is writing about writer's block. It looks to be a short series of essays. I definitely recommend it. Part 1: Performance Anxiety
