One of these days I need a friend who shares more than 40% of my interests.

I will have to say one thing about the ending of Fruits Basket - I was actually surprised by the outcome for one of the characters. I had accidentally spoiled myself for one of the interesting plot twists (not to mention having been deliberately spoiled earlier) so a few scenes were not as dramatic as they could have been, but were still very emotional.

Matt and I have been watching BSG, and I accidentally spoiled myself for something later in the series as well, as well as knowing a few things that some of my co-worker had told me, but I'm not telling Matt. It amuses me when he guesses right or wrong, just like when we watched Princess Tutu together.

I got a new Juliet Marillier book! The two stories she took on this time were the 12 dancing princesses and the frog prince - in Romania! It was good, if a little formulaic. I had most of the plot twists figured out the first time they were alluded to - (oh my, you mean your elder brother drowned and you were the only one there and there was nothing you could do? And not five minutes earlier a mysterious woman offered you power if you would give up your most precious thing and you stared at your brother while she said this! My goodness, you poor dear, I'm so sorry you couldn't save him! I'm sure you tried your best.) Although I didn't figure out one twist - which made me happy. I was enjoying the book enough to forgive it for being predictable.

Questionable Content! Has been the most adorable EVER lately! Faye goes to a bar that "takes the concept of ladies' night very seriously". They play Jane Austen movies on the big screen, and kick out guys that hit on the girls! I would SO go to that bar!

Last week at my Planescape gaming session, my barbarian (actually 5 barbarian, 1 rogue, 4 streetfighter) was hit with a curse of insanity. That means that every round (6 seconds) I had to make a roll to see if I would be normal, gibber, attack or run away from the caster, or attack the nearest creature. Since "rounds" really take something like 2-5 minutes, it's hard to think of how quickly that can change. Once the battle was over, I got protection from evil/chaos'd (I have no idea which at this point) but the curse didn't wear off as it was 1) a curse, not a spell, 2) from a high level enemy - a lesser avatar of a god. Maybe I shouldn't've busted my way through the wall of his lair?

So my teammates are trying to figure out what to do with a raging barbarian - I mean, I'm the strongest of all of them, and they can't keep me "protected" all the time (although that's what they do now, now that the rest of the spellcasters prepare that every morning now just for me). So the mage turns me into a weiner dog. I pass my fort save, so I can still speak and reason like myself. Also, my armor transformed with me due to the spell (baleful polymorph).

So now I'm an insane talking weiner dog with full plate armor and a miniature bastard sword strapped to my back. I love DnD.

Oh yeah, work is ok too. And I made a tasty blueberry dessert recently. And stuff.
