The most tense lecture is the one that never happens at all. When you're waiting for it, and waiting for it, and the moment comes, and it doesn't happen. It's not relief, because it might still happen, but it is something like relief because it probably won't.
And then you feel sick, because you could have gotten this done and over with ages ago if you had just known that you weren't going to get chewed out.
