clodia_risaI started reading at 11 am, and I am finished.
It was interesting how many theories came true. Harry as Horcrux and having to die. Snape in love with Lily, although that one took me by surprise in its execution. Aberforth being the Hogs Head innkeeper. [edit] OH YEAH AND THE FUCKING LOCKET, HOW COULD I FORGET THAT!???
I remember anticipating that the truth would be revealed about Snape towards in the end of the book, in one chapter, where Snape would reveal the entire story of why he worked for Dumbledore. I was just expecting him to be alive and chastising Harry for being such an idiot. Poor Snape.
I'm glad for the treatment of Draco, especially in the last chapter. I enjoyed the last chapter, even though it was a little corny. Only a little.
The only time I cried was when James, Lily, Sirius, and Remus showed up, and Harry walked to his doom. Very well written.
I anticipated either Lupin or Tonks dying, not both. I'm glad their kid is hooking up with Bill and Fleur's kid though.
Dumbledore's past, and the hallows...It really drives home that point about choices, doesn't it? I like knowing that Dumbledore has blood on his hands, that he is dark, that he makes tough decisions, and truly 100% knows the consequences of those decisions. If I had known about his past earlier, I would have trusted him more. Which was the point of mentioning it in this book, I suppose. Also, it really does throw doubt on his decisions. He is ruthless because he has to be - because, as Harry says, sometimes it is about the greater good.
Every time that Neville and Luna showed up, I was happy. They were excellent.
Good on Harry for getting over the Snape thing, and quickly. I think that dying might have been part of that.
Altogether a good book - it will be a awhile to be an enjoyable book - it is not comfortable to read.
