This, to me, was the strongest episode so far. I'd hate to think that was because Eliza Dushku was in it so little. It was probably because we actually had plot development.

I suspected Mellie of being a doll at the beginning, which faded as I started to like her more. I felt like the relationship between the two was tons better than I had feared it was goign to be. Tehn I feared she was goig to be put in the fridge. Then, of course, she's a doll.

I thought that the "message" sent to Helo Ballard during the fight scene was fake. Now that I know that Mellie's a doll, I think that there's a good chance that the message was real. But who, is the question. Frankly, I think it has to be Amy Acker's character. None of the other major characters who are not actives have good enough reasons to rebel, and plenty of good reasons to stay. Plus, Acker's only been booked as a guest star.

If the show continues in this vein, I think I will continue to enjoy it more and more.

Also - "Rebecca's" fixation on the porn was hilarious. Porn!

I....honestly don't have much to say. I hope Helo doesn't die. If Kara dies or sacrifices herself or something, I will be majorly ticked. I t hink that Roslin and elder Adama have death written all over them. I...don't know if Baltar will live or not. Athena is a scary scary mama bear, and while I feel for her pain, I guess I prefer Helo as I am on his side in the matter. Even though he's clearly the one who screwed up. I don't think Tyrol or Boomer is going to make it. Tigh and Ellen dont have a good chance either. Lee will be fine, I think.

Since I've practically marathoned the last few episodes, this half of the season seems much less real than the previous ones. I hope to enjoy the final episode. I certainly can't seem to visit any website without seeing references to it. I can't even go to WowInsider. Watching it tonight.

I think the mole is Topher's lab assistant. I would normally suspect Amy Acker's character, but I assume she's not familiar with the tech programming that's involved in wiping and imprinting the dolls. Although I do think she used to be a doll...so maybe she acquired that programming skill herself?

Yeah, I was thinking about it, and Acker doesn't have the tech know-how for it. And I would like it if it were the lab assistant - she doesn't get enough to do.

What makes you think Acker was formerly a doll? That hadn't occurred to me at all. Of course, I didn't think that the Dollhouse was as old as it was nor as widespread either.

I've thought she was a doll early on, but she was injured and taken off status. But then we found out Alpha injured her...and I am assuming she was medical staff when that happened. But the character had a strange expression when Topher mentioned beautiful things in the Dollhouse, and plus Topher looked at her weirdly for the first two episodes. I think she either was a doll, or someone she was very close to was. There's a deep sadness about her character and she seems to broadcast a vibe of "wary, quiet victim."

On the other hand, I don't know what the purpose would be of taking someone who was a doll (but became unattractive and thus without value) and making them part of your core staff... that seems unwise. Better to just give them a new life and drop them off far away from the dollhouse location.

I can't see DeWitt being so careless as to let a former doll stick around. I agree that her demeanor is that of a very frightened victim, but I don't know if being a doll is necessarily the answer. It looks like the staff is as capable of going to the attic as the actives, and obviously can be blackmailed. I wonder if she joined and then realized she was in over her head.

However, I must admit that I didn't notice Acker's look at "beautiful things" nor did I notice Topher looking at her funny, so you might be on the right track and I'm simply missing it.
