Castle 1x04
Apr. 1st, 2009 11:43 amMy thoughts on "Hell Hath No Fury" No spoilers.
1) If I can guess who the murderer will be when they are introduced two weeks in a row, you're doing your job wrong.
2) Did the black ME (Lanie Parish. Gotta learn these names) seriously call Beckett girlfriend? OMG.
3) The other two detectives (Esposito and Ryan, one down, one to go) are hilarious and adorable, and we did get a little bit more characterization this week.
4) Every murder so far has been by or around the white rich and powerful. Murder of a real-estate mogul's daughter. White college educated nanny. Hedge-fund kid. Councilman. I know that (at least in TV) the rich make for more interesting murder cases because they have the money to pull off elaborate stunts and get themselves out of trouble. They also have a tendency to pull off cold-blooded murder more than the lower-classes (in TV-land again). And we're interested in characters who really don't want to get caught and are smart enough to know something about how murders are investigated. But it's still getting old. And I hope that when they have their first non-white murder victim and family, that it's not stereotyped.
5) I love watching Beckett and Castle interact. I've said this every week, but it's so true. Love it!
