If you're [a] Marvel reader and truly feel we're sexist, then why are you reading our books? Now, perhaps you're not a Marvel reader, then if that's the case, I'm not quite sure what you're criticizing if you don't read our books? - Joe Quesada

Now, I just heard of this Marvel Divas today, and I don't read overmany American comic books, but let me get this straight. If I dislike an aspect of something I should stop reading it, and if I don't read it, I can't criticize? I guess there's no logical reason or way for me to complain about something that I enjoy, eh?

July of 1776 - July of 1920

M: "Oh, you don't like not being able to vote? Well, why are you an American? Why don't you go live somewhere else, huh? Unless you're *not* an American, in which case, baby doll, I don't think you actually understand what democracy means and of course no one will give you votes if that's the case."

July of 1920

W: "Well I'm staying, a big Fuck You Too! Cause that's what we say in America! And now we're going to talk about college admissions, jerkwad."

Like I just posted in [livejournal.com profile] rashaka's journal, the logic is so perfectly circular you just can't dent it.

If you don't like something it's your own fault for reading it.
If you don't read it, you can't possibly know what's in it.

Either way: Marvel's not sexist, so they WIN!

I have never heard of Marvel Divas but Marvel's track record is not inviting a lot of benefit of the doubt.

No, either way, the point is: You have no valid way of saying that we're sexist, so it doesn't matter if we're sexist or not, you can't be right.

Yep. If you don't have [livejournal.com profile] rashaka friended, she's got a much better post herself, and some awesome comments. I now have an angry icon too!

I'm going to do the reading in the store thing whenever I can followed by the reading things which are girl friendly. And then posting about them.

Like my new angry icon?

I do have her friended, actually; I just read yours first (being at the top and all). It was indeed a good post with awesome comments!
