The last few days I've been delightfully busy. Running from work to class to rehearsal and back home to relax. Cooking and cleaning before people come over to play Pathfinder. Today, however, I'd much rather stay home. I really need to clean the house and go grocery shopping and try to not suffer from allergies. Instead, I get to ride my bike to work as my car is in the shop. I then get to be there from 3pm to about 11pm without a dinner break. I will then be asking my husband to pick up my bike as well as myself as there is no way in hell that I'm riding back the two miles home at 11pm. Midland is safe and all but there are still idiot drivers and I will be exhausted by then.
To clarify a few points: most shifts are five or six hours long. This still seems like a long time because you don't ever get a chance to sit down and you're busy practically the entire shift. And I don't get a formal dinner break because I'm covering part of someone else's shift and no dinner break was written into the schedule. I'll be rustling up some food to munch on during the slow periods, but I'm still not happy about it.
Ah well. I'll get to come home tonight and play with my kitty and watch Doctor Who. That'll be nice.
