Today I discovered cherries. Previously, I knew such things existed, but had only experienced them as over-sweetened bits of nonsense from a jar. Today, I had my first real cherry - and it was marvelous. Not too sweet, a little tart - it was a real revelation. NOW I get why people like them. I bought a pint.

I also bought three onions, a head of cabbage, and some new potatoes, all from Michigan. I'm going to combine those with some sausage tonight for dinner. Yum!

We've moved into temporary housing (which is extremely nice!) and all I've got to do is finish unpacking our stuff and getting a few things we didn't bring with us (like hangers and 409).

I went to go check out the local bike shop yesterday. A very nice lady helped me to go through all the bikes, and I've got two in mind right now. They're a little low on stock, so she told me to come back next week when they'll have more in my size, and I can test-ride a mountain bike too. This city is much friendly to bicyclists than any city I've ever lived in before, so I'm looking forward to getting back in practice with that.

I finally saw Prince Caspian yesterday, and I generally liked it. Caspian and Susan were hot and also badass. Dawn Treader is my favorite after LWW, so I'm very much looking forward to that. Hopefully there will be more Reepicheep this time.

Also! I saw a rabbit in our (very small) backyard yesterday. It had its back to me at first, so I wasn't certain if it was the fattest, fluffiest squirrel I had ever seen, or a rabbit. It was adorable, and nibbled for a few minutes before hopping away. I hope it comes back!

So the car dealership we're trying to buy a car from changed the financing on us. Only by 1%, and it's still obnoxiously low, but they talked us into putting a deposit on a car the day we went in because of the even more obnoxiously low interest rates because it was lasting an extremely short time and they can't even keep to that? And they offer no explanation as to why! Uh-huh.

We're going over in a sec (I leave to pick him up from work as soon as this entry is finished) to talk to them in person, because I was not on my A-game when they called me back. I at least had the presence of mind to say that I needed to talk to my husband and would be back to them.

If we don't like how they talk to us there, and explain what is going on, then I guess we're taking our business elsewhere. They're the only Honda dealership in sixty miles, but there is always Toyota.

I have to go make myself look mildly fierce (aka upset librarian).

We are getting our Accord in Friday. The salesman apparently could tell that I was not particularly happy about the financing change, and so has bought back the difference in interest so that we can get our original financing (basically taking the difference in the amounts from their profits). We are very pleased and happily expect our second car on Friday.

This is slightly unnerving for me, as it is the biggest obvious change in our positions in life. We've gone from poor college students (basically) to adults...with a house...and two cars. It's slightly freaky, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon. I'm glad we have this temporary housing for this month. It's buffering the transition from that cramped, poorly laid-out apartment, to the house we'll be living in for the next two years. I still have no idea what we're going to do with that space. We'll have to have visitors!
