May Obama be as half as good of a President as he promised to try to be. :D

ETA: Stream of Consciousness.

I feel happy and shocked and wide-eyed and unbelieving and joyful. Even though it was leading to it all night, I couldn't believe it when Stewart announced Obama's victory.

John McCain's speech was very good, respectful, classy.

President Obama. President Obama. President Barack Hussein Obama. :D

OMG I am wanting to liveblog Obama's speech - come out and talk!

I thought McCain's speech was nice, too. Except all the people in the audience were kind of classless, but I guess that's to be expected; it would have been the same way if it were Obama doing the concession.

I can't entirely blame them. Entirely. It's very disappointing - I'm sure. I remember from '04. As someone else on my flist said, if McCain had been this classy throughout the entire election, it would have been a lot closer.

I was seriously expecting the Klan to streak during McCain's concession or something. Yikes.
